Such a beautiful home for any occasion when visiting Mandeville! Michael & Rikki have so much to offer in this home. Location, Charm, Beauty, Parking, Comfy beds, Keurig coffee maker, Soft linens & towels, Steamy hot showers, Beckoning porches, Spotlessly clean, Private & Safe!
A home away from home. I surprised my wife on her birthday, with a one night get away. Which was perfect! As soon as we drove up to the house, her jaw dropped. She was impressed that I was able to find such a beautiful, cozy little guest house. I was impressed as well, the location was perfect within walking distance for our dinner that night. The property is very well maintained. The room was super charming, clean, and inviting! The bed was so comfortable, I need to get one for myself! At this time of year, ‘Christmas’, Girod St. is decorated with beautiful Christmas lights, from beginning of the street till you hit the lake. The surrounding neighborhoods are all decorated in Christmas lights as well. Loved the holiday spirit and the inviting small town feel. We will be back again!
Michael did a fabulous job on this house with two guest rooms. My husband and I always try and stay in places like this and this experience was great. Amenities were excellent with a comfortable bed and a fire pit when the weather turned chilly. Quick response when we had a question. Didn’t even have to do anything special to check out. Really like the method of checking in. So easy. Great location for walking to so many places for eating and shopping. Pleasant hosts. We highly recommend and will be back.
The room was comfortable, clean and perfect for two people. Check-in was seamless with no required contact. Your code to do the door is all you need for check-in. The best part was the location. A fantastic breakfast spot is across the street and a local coffee shop less than one block away. Lake is a five minute walk and several restaurants within a few minutes walk.
What a beautiful, cozy and comfortable place to stay while in Mandeville. The bed was very comfortable, the room was lovely and nicely appointed with in-room coffee machine, mini fridge, bistro seating and ceiling fan with air conditioner. I enjoyed a nice, quiet sleep with no noise, no interruptions or hassles at check-in, and great off-street parking. I definitely recommend this quaint inn in a lovely neighborhood where you can walk to shops and restaurants safely and easily. This will be my go-to when I return.
Located in Old Mandeville, just a block away from the beautiful lakefront of Lake Pontchartrain, is this gorgeous guesthouse. Its location is conveniently placed so that multiple shops and restaurants are in walking or biking distance. Its surroundings have a quiet small town charm straight out of a movie. The room was very clean, well-decorated, cozy, and comfortable. The self check in was simple and easy. I most definitely recommend Guesthouse of Girod, and I hope to stay there again myself in the future.
This was our first experience with the Guest House on Girod. We stayed in the Leighton Suite and it was beyond our expectations. Beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. Our hosts definitely hit the nail on the head with a uniquely comfortable space. We will absolutely return for our next visit to Mandeville.
We stay here annually when we visit Mandeville. The rooms are always clean and close to the Castine Center.
What an absolutely lovely place! We spent 3 nights and felt right at home. The room decor is comfortable and cozy. Very clean. All the amenities were include - hair dryer, steamer, refrigerator, coffee bar. The location is perfect - just one block from the lake. Several restaurants within walking distance and the cutest breakfast cafe right across the street. We’ll be back!
I am so glad that we found this place for our Thanksgiving visit with Mandeville family. We stayed in the Constance room. It was smaller than a typical hotel room but sufficient space for our short visit. The room was super clean and nicely appointed with soft sheets (would like to know what brand?), a coffee station, mini-fridge and microwave. Parking was easy and the location was within walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars but we did not hear any noise. The managers were very prompt when we requested to move our reservation by one day as our plans changed. We will return - we visit family a couple of times each year and sometimes want to make our visit a vacation rather than just a visit so being able to enjoy all that Mandeville offers is a bonus. So glad that that there was a late cancellation and we found the Guesthouse on Girod.
